Professional specialization Circus Arts Teacher

Educational Objectives

The course is designed to train teachers capable of designing and organizing circus arts educational activities for students of all ages and backgrounds, at different levels: recreational and amateur training, professional training, and advanced training courses using circus technical aids in compliance with regulations and best safety practices.

Circus arts teachers can work in accredited professional training facilities, recreational and amateur training centers, professional companies, art schools (theater, dance), youth or cultural centers run by public administrations, and public and private schools of all levels.

They must be able to independently develop their own teaching activities, integrating content with the overall needs of the training program and evaluating its effectiveness, under the responsibility of the director of the institution where they work (school director, artistic director of a company, or head of a local educational project).
They have the ability to continue their education, updating and specializing in a particular discipline, and to cooperate with the teaching staff of the institution where they are employed.

• Pedagogical coordination and direction
• General teacher planning
• History and techniques of performing arts
• Observation and evaluation methodologies and tools
• Specific teaching techniques for contemporary circus
• Hygiene, health, and safety in the workplace
• Specific techniques for live performance disciplines

Prerequisites

• Secondary school or professional diploma or degree.
• Two-year diploma in circus arts and/or at least two years of proven experience gained in institutions that provide professional training or as professionals in the fields of circus arts, dance, theater, sports, and other movement disciplines.
