On Monday, July 14, at 11:30 a.m., the official presentation of GreenkedIn, Italy’s first digital platform dedicated to mapping and developing cultural and creative industries in the live entertainment and film sectors, will take place at ANEC – ASSOCIAZIONE NAZIONALE ESERCENTI CINEMA (National Association of Cinema Operators) in Via di Villa Patrizi, 10 in Rome. The presentation will be attended by the promoters, institutional partners, and supporting organizations. GreenkedIn is a project conceived and implemented by the Cirko Vertigo Foundation, a cultural and creative social enterprise, with the support of Bus Company and under the aegis of A.I.FOR.ART. – Italian Association for Artistic Education, and REACT, both branches of AGIS. The project is co-financed by funds from the PNRR (Mission 1, Component 3 – Tourism and Culture 4.0, Investment 3.3, Action A I).

Jérôme Thomas and the Cirko Vertigo Foundation Press Kit – New Perspectives for Contemporary Circus

New prospects are opening up for European contemporary circus: starting in October 2025 and for the following three years, Jérôme Thomas, recognized as the father of contemporary juggling, will be the artistic director of the three-year degree program in Contemporary Circus Artist at the Cirko Vertigo Academy, directed and founded by Paolo Stratta, the first and only degree program in the field in Italy. This important move, announced at a press conference in Paris, comes at a crucial time for the development of the Academy, based in Piedmont, and of contemporary circus in Italy and Europe.

Press kit for the first University Degrees in Contemporary Circus from the Cirko Vertigo Foundation

The Cirko Vertigo Academy in Grugliasco proudly celebrates Italy’s first seven graduates in Contemporary Circus Artistry. In June 2022, the professional development that began with the Foundation’s Professional Training Course for Contemporary Circus Artists, directed by Paolo Stratta and chaired by Paolo Verri, received equivalence from the Interministerial Commission for the award of a bachelor’s degree in DAMS (Department of Music, Music and Performing Arts). The creation of a university program that graduates in Contemporary Circus Artistry is a landmark achievement for the sector in Italy, filling a significant gap compared to other countries, such as Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, and France. This recognition was achieved thanks to the extremely high training standards and constant supervision during the training, as well as in the transition between study and work.

The first exam session for the three-year degree course in contemporary circus has begun.

Everyone in class on Monday, January 23rd at 9:00 a.m. for the first exams of the three-year degree program in Contemporary Circus, a program initiated by the Cirko Vertigo Foundation, unique in Italy, made possible thanks to twenty years of experience in the field.
Nineteen third-year students at the Academy will take exams on the theoretical subjects covered in class during this first part of the school year. The training program is supported by the MIC, the Piedmont Region, the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, the CRT Foundation, and the City of Grugliasco, and is being implemented in collaboration with the blucinQue Nice Production Center, the DAMS of Turin, and the City of Turin.

The Nice Festival Torino – Identity and Difference will take place from December 1 to 31, 2023, in Turin, Grugliasco, and Moncalieri, showcasing internationally renowned artists and companies.

CIRKO VERTIGO OPENS THE ACADEMIC YEAR IN MONDOVÌ, IN THE CUNEO AREA, A NEW LOCATION TO GROW THE UNIVERSITY OF CONTEMPORARY CIRCUS

The Cirko Vertigo Academy opens its new university year in Mondovì, in the province of Cuneo, starting today, Tuesday, September 12, in the presence of the President of the Cirko Vertigo Foundation, Paolo Verri, the Mayor of Mondovì, Luca Robaldo, and the President of the CRC Foundation, Ezio Raviola. The meeting at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Room at the Mondovì Town Hall will be followed by the first lessons in the multipurpose room at the bottom station of the funicular. This marks a significant milestone for the Foundation, founded by Director Paolo Stratta over 20 years ago and now Italy’s first contemporary circus university. Since 2022, it has been recognized as a three-year degree equivalent to DAMS (Department of Music, Music and Performing Arts) and is headquartered in the Le Serre cultural park in Grugliasco, in the province of Turin.

The press conference will be held on Wednesday, June 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Mondovì Ceramics Museum, Piazza Maggiore 1, as part of the Piazza di Circo Festival conference, organized by the L’Albero del Macramè Association.

The highest officials of the City of Mondovì will be present, including the festival’s artistic director, Raffaele Irace; the director of the Cirko Vertigo Foundation, Paolo Stratta; the director of the Piazza di Circo festival, Marco Donda; CFP CEMON; and CIAC.

Press conference to present the CALVINO100 project APRIL 18, 10:00 AM, AGIS HEADQUARTERS, ROME

On Tuesday, April 18, at 10:00 a.m., the AGIS (Italian General Association of Entertainment) headquarters at Via del Gesù 62 in Rome will host a press conference for the project “Calvino 100 – In cammino sul filo delle montagne” (Calvin 100 – Walking on the Edge of the Mountains). This project is by Fondazione Cirko Vertigo, in collaboration with UNCEM (National Union of Mountain Municipalities, Communities, and Entities), the Department of Agricultural, Forestry, and Food Sciences at the University of Turin, IED (European Institute of Design), and in partnership with AGIS. As a special project, it is supported by the Ministry of Culture.
